About the Author
PEGGY R. HOYT, JD, MBA, B.C.S.*

Florida Board Certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates

Peggy R. Hoyt is a founding partner of the Law Offices of Hoyt & Bryan, a central Florida estate planning firm located in historic Oviedo, Florida.  She is the oldest of four girls and grew up with cats and dogs, horses, hamsters, gerbils, fish, lizards and snakes. Peggy has always had a passion for horses. As a teenager, in addition to caring for her own horses, Peggy worked summers as an assistant on Charlie Iler's Thoroughbred breeding farm. Today, horses are still her life and include BLM mustang rescues, Reno and Tahoe  adopted in May 1997 and Premarin rescue, Sierra, adopted in December 2000. 

Peggy graduated from Stetson University with her M.B.A. and began her career as a college recruiter for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.  She has also worked as a Financial Consultant for Merrill Lynch, Account Executive for Southern Bell (now Bellsouth) and Chief Financial Officer for Fine Foliage of Florida, Inc.  In 1993, she eanred her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law.  Hoyt & Bryan was founded in 1999.  She and her partner, Randy Bryan dedicate their practice to the areas of estate planning (including pets), elder law and estate administration.  Both are board certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates.

In addition to her law practice, Peggy is an adjunct professor of Animal Law at Barry University College of Law in Orlando, Florida.  She is also a Senior Manager with SendOutCards, an online greeting card creation company teaching the world how to "send out to give."  This is consistent with her personal positive philosophy of "thoughts become things - choose the good ones." 

When Peggy is not meeting with clients, teaching, speaking or writing, you can probably find her with her horses.  She and Sierra enjoy competitve trail riding and limited distance endurance.  She also enjoys quality time with her dogs (Kira, Corkie, Fawn, Tobie and Leiden), her cats (Beijing, Bangle, Black Jack and Shamu) or her husband, Joe Allen.
